Preserving North Dakota's Prehistory
Partners in Paleo
Since 1983, the The North Dakota Geological Survey Paleontology Program (NDGS Paleontology) has promoted public understanding of the importance of North Dakota's fossil resources through educational and outreach activities including the public fossil dig program, fossil exhibits, tours, and presentations.
Friends of NDGS Paleo, a 501(c)(3) organization, was established in 2020 to support NDGS Paleontology, the Public Fossil Dig Program, field and lab work, and fossil exhibits in North Dakota.
Public Fossil Dig
The fossil dig season runs from mid-June through mid-August and includes dig sites across North Dakota.
